I have a Dell Inspiron 1720. It has an Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T8100. The operating system is Windows Vista. The computer is lightening fast with a 250 GB hard drive and 3 GB of dual-channel RAM. The memory has to be the biggest pro of this computer. This computer is more like a desktop brain in a laptop body. It can do everything my desktop can do and more, but it's portable. It is so convenient.
The screen is a 17" widescreen, which is awesome for gaming and watching movies. The only con about the screen size is the added weight. The laptop weighs about 8.6 lbs. It can be pretty heavy to tote around the house. The 256MB NVIDIA® Geforce® 8600M GT graphic card really makes anything you look at on the screen great. You can see every little detail on everything.
The ease of burning cd's or DVD's is wonderful with the 8X max DVD+/-RW Drive with DVD+R double layer writing capability. It also comes installed with software to make it even easier. I can burn a full length cd in about 2 minutes.
To top of the quality of this laptop, throw into the mix the fact that you can even customize it to suit your color preference, with eight colors to choose from!
Another feature I am totally in love with, is the keypad. It has your normal QWERTY keyboard, and number pad along the top, but it also has a typical number pad to the side, like a full sized keyboard. The keys can also stand up to anything. I once had my two year old son pull one off, and I contacted Dell support that night, and within twelve hours, customer support sent me a completely new keyboard to install with instructions.
All in all, I am totally in love with my laptop. I have had it for about six months now, and everyone I run into, I recommend it to. Dell has AWESOME customer support, fast and reliable. I have yet to have any software or hardware issues with this computer, which is highly unusual, and I have uploaded thousands of pictures, and tons of music and games on it, and it still runs as fast as the day I bought it.
This computer can be costly, however, it is a great value for what you get. It is worth every penny you pay for it and more.
