Ironman: The PC game - game review

So you want to be a superhero Ironman style? Flying high in full battle gear, decimating armies and saving the free world from mad scientist or terrorist from utter annihilation.

Although Ironman the pc game is released with conjunction with the Ironman the movie. The plot of the game has little to do with the film story. It overlaps sometimes with some scenes but most of your missions are not on the film. It's with the game developers' intent to make Ironman (PC game) have its own distinct flavor rather than playing it like you were in the actual movie.

The game is on a third person view with RPG style built into it. The game really shines on the graphics. Oh boy it is sweet, especially if you're flying. It's an animation beauty to see your armor suit continually flaps to stabilize you in the air. It has surprisingly great freedom on what you can do to cause mayhem. You can grab incoming missiles and throw it back to the bad guys. You can grab helicopters and split them apart with your sheer power and don't forget you massive firepower capability. You can really feel like you're a one-man army.

The ugly part is after you're halfway to the game. When the all the graphical flare looses its bang. The first things you'll notice is that mission's template are very repetitive. Its more or less like destroying important structure so you can destroy a more important structure so you can eventually destroy the mean super bad weapon the bad guy has before he can cause harm to innocent people.

One thing I also noticed is the difficulty curve suddenly spikes around the halfway part. At one time it's like a walk in the park and suddenly your stuck in a guillotine with your head on it. What makes it more frustrating is that missions don't have save waypoints. This means if your close to completing the operation but a missile got you in the back and you died, then you have to start over from the beginning.

Overall the graphics are great but the game play is needs overhauling if you know what I mean. Yet if you're kind of a gamer who don't want mind boggling enigmas and just want to straight shoot'em up armada style game. Then this ones for your. Plus its also too see how your Unibeam decimate tanks and helicopters.
